One example client use case is creating a table, chart, or widget to display the prescription counts of a specific drug. While creating the visualization by tapping into the application’s pharmacy data, the client is unsure whether to use the script count field or the record count field from Pharmacy. Clicking on the info icon within the dashboard creation workflow displays topics relevant to the pharmacy data table, which is being used in the visualization, including how the script count field is calculated (see screenshots). With this information, the client can determine which field is most relevant for their particular use case and why.
According to a Gartner survey of over 400 Chief Data Officers, self-service analytics is one of the top enablers for Data and Analytics (D&A) success[i].
Among Cedar Gate’s client base, partnership and organizational structures designed to support new care and payment models are driving the need for self-service functionality. Deeper collaboration between payers and providers requires flexible dashboard creation to convey performance insights and build trust with networked provider groups. Similarly, third party administrators, brokers, consultants and ASO divisions of health plans serving self-funded employers must be able to tailor analytic insights to meet the needs of diverse clients and numerous stakeholders. In both these scenarios, centralized IT-driven processes for creating a simple dashboard or custom view can result in delayed response times and duplicative efforts that can impact business relationships, as well as the bottom line.
Delegated analytics tools can empower providers, payers, and organizations supporting self-funded employers to quickly generate and share customized insights. Functionality like Create Explorer can support self-service initiatives by surfacing the right information at the moment it is needed.
